Prior to meeting, an MDA representative and Carolyn Zorn presented a summer camp MDA video and expressed the need for more volunteer camp counselors. The meeting was called to order at 7:32 p.m. by President Mike Wyly. The pledge of allegiance was led by Sergeant-At-Arms Ric Roldan and there was a moment of silence for departed brothers and sisters. The roll call was answered by thirteen officers and stewards in good standing. Motion passed to waive the reading of the minutes from the previous meeting, correct as printed in the Mail Call (Collier/Zorn). Bills were read and a motion passed that the warrants be drawn and bills be paid (Siechert/Collier). Motion passed to accept application for membership from Leticia Alonso (Collier/Siechert) - Welcome to the Branch, Leticia!! President Wyly introduced State President John Beaumont to the membership. President Beaumont thanked our branch for our donation to the state Saxsenmeier Scholarship Fund and he introduced and congratulated Vivian Yip, daughter of Carrier Steve Yip, as a winner of the state scholarship award. Ms. Yip thanked the NALC and addressed the membership. President Beaumont went on to address all the USPS changes and how much letter carrier jobs are affected by state senators and our members of Congress. He stressed the importance of letter carriers being involved in the political process, in order to save our jobs and health/retirement benefits. President Wyly discussed the challenges of carriers being excessed and the changes with FSS and COR implementation in our offices. The meeting was adjourned at 8:34 p.m.

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING August 9, 2011
The meeting was called to order at 7:15 p.m. by President Mike Wyly. The pledge of allegiance was led by Sergeant-at-Arms Ric Roldan and there was a moment of silence for departed brothers and sisters since the last meeting. The roll call was answered by ten officers and stewards in good standing. Motion passed to waive the reading of the minutes from the previous meeting, to be printed in the next issue of the Mail Call (Siechert/Collier). Bills were read and a motion passed that the warrants be drawn and bills be paid (Siechert/Trieu). Motion passed to excuse Donald Smith, H.T. Tran and Nancy Norman from the meeting (Temblador/Siechert). Legislative Liaison Jan Siechert updated the membership on political bills in Congress and Senate and read portions of NALC State President John Beaumont's report. MDA Coordinator Carolyn Zorn reported on Camp Irvine and an ongoing raffle for L.A. Sparks tickets. Health Benefits Representative Walter Washington reported on premium changes, mini clinics, and other changes coming to the health benefit plan. Discussion of excessed carriers and the upcoming national contract negotiations followed. Motion passed to accept the recommendation of the Executive Board that the Branch pay Carolyn Zorn for lost time and mileage while conducting station standups for MDA "Fill the Satchel" campaign (Burskey/Temblador). The MDA raffle winners this month for L.A. Sparks tickets were Rob Burskey and Larrie Rhodes. The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
